Leaving on Monday Oct 29 , we do not get away until 3PM due to lack of organization on our part. It is a cold and windy day with Hurricane Sandy expected to hit the east coast bringing wind and cold rain to MI. We plan on heading south/east to S. Carolina,, change plans going south and west instead.
We travel to Fishers IN and stay the night at a nice looking Super 8, unloaded too much stuff in the cold and wind. Must repack,, we are not used to this motel thing yet. Motor home is all we know, after getting settled in we see a small red bug on the wall between the beds.. kill bug, 20 minutes later another one, kill bug, 30 minutes and another,, kill bug,, we call the desk and ask for some Raid, a young man comes and sprays, In a few minutes he calls our room and says he will move us. We say no we are settled in, and the bugs are dead, right? ,, 30 minutes, he calls again says the manager wants us to move, He will help us. so we move next door. Now we keep looking for bugs in the new room.. nothing so we sleep. Dream of my Motor Home !
Tuesday we decided to go to the St Louis area ranch to see the Budweiser Clydesdale's,, we call for a tour reservation and the young man says I have some real bad news ,," the last tour for the YEAR left about an hour ago". We are starting out great..
Taking our favorite route allows us to cross the Mississippi River three times.. Always a fun thing.
We travel on to Cape Girardeau, MO and stay at the days Inn.. Warmer outside but still jacket weather.
Watch TV and eat the last of our Ham sandwiches..We eat out tomorrow,,
We got phone calls from Alisha and Joan Lucas today.. Joan was worried about us in MI.the high winds,storms and the effects of Hurricane Sandy. I told her we were safe in MO.
We get to San Antonio Friday 12-2-12, Visit with Alisha at her apartment, cook Brots we brought from Michigan..
Arrive at the park on Saturday,,
Forgot to call to have gas turned on ahead of time, something new we had to do this year.
Forgot the Microwave broke last year ,so no gas stove, no hot water, no way to heat water,,wait coffee pot,, tough getting enough to wash with though. DISH TV not getting signal , like every year must send Tech out to do his thing.
Ate at Las Vegas Cafe, the good part. Sure missed their Tacos.
Get Golf cart running, Getting lots of "Welcome backs" Finding a place for everything, Ate at Cattleman's. Going to shower room and pool to refresh and shower. Temps in 90's. Monday DISH Tech came and got us hooked up with TV and local channels.
Met Cliff and Lavonne at Applebees .Still no cooking or hot water, waiting until Wednesday for gas to get turned on.
Friday bought Microwave at garage sale [20.00]
Saturday Mom,Bud,Kathy arrived.
It is Good to be back in Texas..
