Texas fun

This year Texas offered lots of new activities and lots more of the same ones, here are some peeks at what we picked.

Cliff ,Lavonne , Bob and Mary always find time to sit at the Wanna Wanna on South Padre Island and have a drink and watch the surf crashing on shore. We also discovered Dirty Al's for the best fish and beer. Must not forget our favorite Blackbeards for the greatest burgers on the Island. If you want good food always ask a senior citizen where they go ..

Connie and Bob joined a Citizens Patrol Academy class for the city of Harlingen. The activities and patrols they went on kept us all entertained and up to date on what was happening in our city after dark. They really enjoyed the "ride a long" program and came home afterward all excited and "pumped " to talk for hours. The "hands on" classes each week were the real thing and included the police drug dog and his handler, getting tasered, talks from undercover officers and much more that could be its own book .

Evelyn planned a surprise baby shower for Rossy and Pepe. It was a small gathering and Jerry Cooper , Bud and Pepe and Pepto sat in the yard . Lots of hugs and thanks while saying good by.

Besides visiting with our Gorilla family , this year Connie got up close and personal with CJ , a 6 week old camel at the zoo. CJ was much softer than we thought. She loved to nibble on your hair or your beard, right Will?

Shopping for bathing suits at the flea market takes time but the average price of 7-9 dollars we just can't resist..

Visiting the air show was fun but there seemed to be a lot of waiting, scaning the sky, waiting and looking and more waiting for something to happen..

Kathy, Will, Bob and Mary all sat and snacked after the air show in the parking lot waiting for the traffic to clear..It is conviennt to have the Vango home to visit. We miss our race track gatherings with the motor home gang..
Also included in all this fun was the rodeo, and the baseball games where you could see a double header or a triple header on Saturdays, all for 3 dollars each. Lots of out of the park foul balls to gather [if you can outrun the kids]. You would get an hour in between to get something to eat and regroup.. We plan on lots more of these next winter. GO WHITE WINGS..........
If we did not want to leave Paradise Park we went bike riding or swimming/walking in the pool and met and talked to lots of new people from all across the country and Canada..Then a quick dip in the hot tub to watch the stars after dark and be grateful for all we have to enjoy.

our gagle of swans

Kids today are getting so spoiled , used to be baby swans had to swim on their own..This only happens for the first couple of days, a rare sight. Father swan came right away to show Bob the new family. After a truckload of bread I guess they owed us the first look.

What do you think they are looking for? Denise's new eye glasses , Craig's cell phone, Alex's hat that blew off the boat, Connie's keys,
Lisa's camera, or Bob's watch.. Any guesses?
This is our version of search and rescue..

Sunrise on Lake Fenton View from my window-6AM

This is one of the mornings only God could create. . I had to share this sunrise from my window.

Giving it a try

This is my maiden voyage for the paddle boat and this blog site. I am jumping into this with both feet and its sink or swim.. I know at least I can float. We shall see , if I disappear from sight.. it means technology has drown me.
