LaRae and Anthony's Wedding Recieption 9-7-12

Connie, Denise and Mary travel to Tenn to attend the Wedding Reception of LaRae and Anthony at the home of the Walkers [Red Head Express] in  Columbia Tennessee where Connie lived for many years while working for  Saturn.

We arrived in Tenn on Thursday night and went to the Walker Farmhouse where we were greeted in a busy kitchen with Salmon direct from Alaska, battered and deep fried  plus a slow cooker with Moose Stew,  yummy.

Denise "volunteered" to hem curtains for the bathrooms.

Connie, LaRae and Anthony viewed photos of their recent Alaska trip and reception.

We return early the next day and help setting up, making signs, carrying pies, mending pants and having fun.

The view of Columbia from the front door of the house.  At night the lights from town below sparkle.
Danny the drummer arrives and gets busy setting up his new drums.
Brett  is in charge of the sound system
Guests start arriving and everyone greets them, even Coco the dog.

So many different kinds of pies and soooooo tasty too!

Will and Mary always have a smile and a laugh together.

The Red Head Express took the"stage" in their wedding garb at 7:30 and played for most of 3 hours.  I have never been to a Reception where the Wedding Party worked so hard to entertain all the guests.

Anthony helps his wife with her mic on her Wedding Dress.

Sean sits in on the drums

We grab a chair or sit on the lawn to listen and wonder at all the talent in one family.

There was a little dancing too.

At the end of the show the Bride and Groom follow their tradition of cutting the "PIE".

What a fun night and a great visit.

Visiting Friends in Columbia, TNN and more

Louisville Zoo

--

At the last minute coming home we decide to use Mary's Gladys Porter Zoo Membership benefits and spend the afternoon at the Louisville KY Zoo. This means we will not get home until the middle of the night but all agree to go and it was worth the night driving and lack of sleep.

 Can you tell the
Gorillas are my favorite? Even the "stuffed" ones.
I was impressed at all the grass the animals have in this zoo. I wonder if we can do this in Texas.
