Shopping at Costco

--

If you have never shopped at a Big Box Store ,well come along and see what we discovered at Costco in Texas

This cute girl welcomes us handing out coupons, checking our Costco card and posing for photos.

This is the biggest reason why I came. It was going to be the waffles but alas they no longer carry them. We have complained and requested Costco bring them back.
Connie "tries" on her new bathing suit.

Take a look at all the things you can do here.

Have a tasty cheap lunch.
Give your opinion , "Bring back the Waffles"!
Get your eyes checked and order glasses

Buy Liquor and fill up with gas, or fill up on liquor and buy gas.
We take a break in the lawn furniture display.

Refreshed we head for Check out.  Remember to bring your own bags or rummage  through the pile of boxes available.

Shopping carts go on one side where they are unloaded by friendly checkers.  Pay and load your cart back up .  Did you bring enough Bags?

At the door another checker looks over your receipt and purchases ,

Zoo tour with Dick and MaryAnn's family

Friday March 15, 2013

Connie , Bob and Mary  met up with Dick, MaryAnn, Chris, Nick, Sam, Annie, and Gretta for a tour of Gladys Porter Zoo.

Taking a break while the rest of group [the Grand kids] are walking through the Herpetarium [snakes and reptiles, not my favorite place]
--

Bob comes through the back gate with Paige [our 6 month old Flamingo]  to meet us and out of nowhere we have an impromptu education session happening.
Of course Paige is the main attraction

Bob easily launches into his "famous" talk and answers questions

The Girl in the wheel chair was looking bored, I ask her to wait [knowing Bob was on his way] but did not tell her why, After she said "That just made my day".  That is why we do what we do.

I liked this shot but does not do it justice,  you have to look to see the two Tigers.

Giraffes are always fun to watch

Giraffe Landing was open to feeding some greens.

"Hey , you taking my picture"??

I love doing Zoo tours, you never know what you are going to see and learn.

Sundays at the Zoo

Sunday March 10, 2013

We are becoming quite the attraction on Sunday when we take our small "flock" of Birds out to entertain.

It takes the equivalent of  two humans for each bird  to handle this task as the crowds are getting bigger.

In our Patio area we have Scarlett on a stand, an information table with a display of eggs from large to small with information books and pictures.
Paige walks around greeting everyone , getting drinks of water with lots of touching..

The Train comes passed our "Station "as we have been added to the tour spiel.

Also passing us by this Sunday is Don and Rita Dorst taking Elvis , the pig for a walk.  Elvis was also a big attraction, stealing a bit of our Thunder.  "Can't top that!"

More drinks of water, while Mom gets her photo opp!
Bob giving his "talk" and answering questions. Kathy, Hector and Connie look and listen.
This Dad was taking lots of pictures of the kids.

Kathy Clark is the go "to" girl for our Spanish speaking visitors.

Kathy also handles the information table explaining about the different eggs.
Bob watches over  Scarlett getting water from a cup in the Boy's hand.
The Crowds were non stop today.

We are right near the Gorillas and they watch us over the wall. Lamadoc is getting his veggie treats.

I have to show how Paige is obsessed with "hair".  Today it was all about nibbling, snuggling, touching and hugging Connie's hair.  Here are pictures of the action.

Hey, get off the phone and pay attention to me.

I think Paige gets her picture taken 300 times each Sunday.Parents are interested also,When was the last time you got to touch or give a drink to a Flamingo?

After thinking this over and looking over the photos, I realize that Connie is very agile  able to squat and bend low to Paige's level, something us senior citizens can not do.  HUMMMMM!
