Alisha and Ben Wedding September 30, 2007
Alisha , Ben and families pulled a beautiful wedding out of the air in little more than a week. We all gathered at the mill pond in Linden on a day with perfect weather.. Above is the Bride and her parents Lisa and Mike ,on the wait to her waiting groom.
This is mom Lisa , step dad Ken and the smiling Bride.

It was also a day for posing for many pictures. Mom Lisa was not far away to help with the dress. Lisa stay composed very well for a mother of the bride seeing her first of four daughter married.

Apple Fest
Craig , Amy and Denise took Carson and an unhappy, protesting Connor down the slide. Grandpa Richard and Great Grandpa Bob watched..Carson wanted to go again by himself but Dad had to go along side him... When Carson got to the top and seen how far it was to the bottom he said " I think I will go on your lap".. Craig then got in trouble with "the man" for taking 2 slide bags and only using one....

The annual Apple Fest at St John's Church is always a good time from the beer tent, chicken dinners, rides , and seeing lots of friends and relitaves. As true to form the drawing for the car was won by someone other than us,,,,,,no big surprise...

Lunch at Olive Garden to honor Lisa Lachowicz 45th birthday was a fun time.

Girls Day at Connie's
Wednesday, Sept 5, 2007 , Evelyn,Cathi,Jessie,Carol,Denise and Mary went to visit Connie and check out the remodel of Connie's house. The house has really changed and is much brighter.
We went for a ride on the pontoon and talked and took pictures. Crooked Lake is getting very shallow and the weeds have taken over.
We ate some great food on deck and drank lots of wine. Denise showed Grandma more details on the GpS system Evelyn and Bud plan on using on the trip to the Army Reunion and Texas next month.
Has anyone seen my waitress??
Oh , there she is!!!
Later in the evening six of Connie;s friends and neighbors came for a visit and more wine was consumed. It was a good time getting to know everyone.

-Mary, Carol and Denise were the last to leave and between the three and the GPS system, took a new route home and laughed most of the way. Thank you Connie for a good time as always..
a day in Tawas
Saturday of Labor Day Weekend the travel group hit the back roads for a trip to Tawas , Michigan. Traveling north on MI 23 , enjoying the sights of small towns , we eye lots of garage and yard sales but do not stop. Just through the town of Omar we stop at Treasures Forever , an Amish furniture and craft shop. Last week Mary and her sister Carol were here so Carol could order a dinning table. Mary wants to shows Bob , Tom and Jean the handcrafted furniture and crafts available. Everything was pricey so we just look ..
Next stop was the cottage of Bob and Lynn Ransom. It is on Lake Huron and a very warm and cozy place to get away from the busy city. The view is fantastic and the sounds of the waves rolling on the beach are so relaxing. It is a great thing that this cottage has been in the Ransom family for many years and generations of family get to share it.
Now it is into the Town of Tawas for the street festival with all the tents on the street and many crafts for sale. The first stop is Norman's, a store famous for lots of stuff and cheap prices. Mostly hunting and camping items.
There are Red Wing shoes, Dickies hats, and Carhart coats. What does not say made in China says made in Mexico. We wonder at this.
Bob and Jean go through the store checking all the labels..
Bob found this enormous pair of boots that were as long as his arm..
Three blocks of the street are blocked to traffic and so off we wander looking at interesting things. There must of been a pet parade earlier because we see lots of dogs all dressed up.
We spy this cutie very relaxed with his hat on. Later we see him in sleeping in his stroller. Some dogs know how to live the good life.
We pause at Barnacle Bills for a beer and then wait for a table at G's for supper..The food was good so the wait was worth it.
An Ice Cream cone next door is a fine finish to our meal.
Back home with more stories and pictures to share.

Trees, trees, and more trees..
These are some pictures of the storm damage in Fenton. The house showing the back yard belongs to Brett and Val. Their deck survived but the surface was cleaned off. The furniture and toys in the yard are the aftermath.. The car hauler on its side is in front of their house.
The tree in Patton's yard next door came down and landed partly in our yard. It made a loud ripping sound.

While Tracy was home on leave we spend hours playing on the lake. Tracy went wakeboarding , waterskiing , swimming and tubing with her cousins. The days were unusually hot and sunny , very much like Yuma, AZ. It was fun keeping cool.
The younger ones look up to Tra and decided to try what every Tracy was doing. Alex [9] and Tracy wakeboarded double and did a great job together. Kristi [6] tried and did not give up until she had the wakeboard master also.
Lots of gas was burned the last 10 days. Thank you Lisa and the famous Momba Boat..
Carson, frogs, and the swamp
Carson Smith , 3 1/2 was frog hunting with cousin Kristi when he fell off the dock into what we call the "muck hole". He came up hollering loudly. Mom Amy and Grandma Denise ran to the rescue but thanks to fast thinking Grandma who turned around to get a camera we have this picture.
Carson learned the hazards of frog hunting.
We could almost hear the frogs laughing.
